Course Info: "Course Descriptions:

Swim:The swim takes place in Mountain Island Lake and is basically an out & back designed course. Outbound and inbound swimmers are separated by about 50 yards, to eliminate potential head-on collisions. The water temperature at Latta is expected to be 80 degrees or higher making wetsuits usage illegal per USAT rules.Bike:The bike course is a 17 mile loop – a course that is best described as moderately hilly. There are no big climbs on the course – but a series of rollers and a couple of fairly long hills though not steep. The bike takes place on two-lane roads that are open to vehicular traffic so participants are encouraged to be alert and careful.

Run:The course is a straight out & back design. It's a mostly off-road run course on the trail system at Latta Park. The run surface is hard-packed dirt/gravel. The course is heavily shaded and features a couple of hills – neither of which is long or steep. Aid stations will be located every mile."

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
