Registration fees included or disclosed up front?: Not specified whether registration/convenience fees are added. Course Info: The swim will take place in the Tennessee River. It is a point to point swim, starting at Calhouns on the river and ending at the Tennessee Boat House.
The bike course is a challenging but fair course with beautiful views, scenic climbs, technical descents on great county roads with little traffic. It takes a few miles to get out of the city but then after that you are well on your way to the beautiful countryside! All in all, there are 4,000 feet of gain and loss in the Challenge Half.
Be ready for some fun on the run! You will begin your run by heading out of transition and turning onto Neyland Drive, where you will pass one of the largest college football stadiums in the country. You will take Neyland Drive onto the paved Knoxville Greenway Trails. Be ready for a couple of hill on the run, but with this out and back you will know exactly what to expect as you make your way back to the finish in World's Fair Park.
More: Challenge Knoxville is the perfect event for the entire family! Taking place in the same location as the 1982 World's Fair there is plenty to see and do in Knoxville, Tennessee. We will be offering an Olympic and Half distance triathlon on Sunday May 17, 2015. Starting your day with a swim in the Tennessee River, biking along the scenic country side of Knoxville, and finishing with an out and back run on the shady paths of the Greenway Trail. This will be a race you won't want to miss!
