More: For the third year RDE ventures east to the beautiful town of Dandridge and Douglas Lake for the 3rd annual Lakeside of the Smokies triathlon. Back for 2016 is the 750 meter Swim/16 mile Bike/3 mile Run sprint option. The Olympic distance race features a 2 lap triangular open water swim, followed by a rolling loop bike course, capped off by a challenging run thru town and across the famous Dandridge levy (aid stations ~every mile). The sprint option is a condensed version of the Olympic course (one lap swim), with a much flatter run course. Greenlayer performance shirts, race logo socks, unique “wooden boat paddle” awards, and post-race pizza highlight the Jefferson Co. event. Expected participation--200
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
