More: This is the seventh year of this series of triathlon races that will take place on four Saturdays throughout the spring & summer at beautiful Portofino Island Resort on Pensacola Beach, FL. Race as an individual or as a 2- or 3- person relay.
These races are "Super Sprint" triathlons (and one duathlon), meaning they are shorter than a typical triathlon "Sprint" race. They are also official USA Triathlon Sanctioned Events.
The Portofino Tri Series is designed for all triathlon abilities - especially brand new athletes! There are no official awards and the max participants will be 70 athletes per event. There will be no "age" groups, and the swim start will consist of two wave starts: all males followed by all females three minutes afterwards. Wetsuits will only be permitted if water temp is 78oor colder. Timing provided by Gulfsport Timing.
It's a GREAT opportunity to "try" a tri, hone your skills before an upcoming race, or enjoy a fun "race experience" during the week with friends.
Directions: After Pensacola Beach's Bob Sikes bridge, continue EAST ~4.5 miles to the cluster of 5 "high-rise" condos on the left.
Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
