Course Info: The triathlon starts with a 150 yard swim at the indoor pool, then transitions to the outdoor pool for another 150 yard swim. From there a short 50 foot trot to the T-1. Bike is a 16.5 mile flat to rolling hill bike course, that is partially restricted to this event only. This is a very scenic country bike course with a current average speed of approxiamtely 17 mph.
After returning to the T-2 Area your run is on a flat paved "Greenway" for 3.5 miles. The entire course is fast!! Well marked for easy running and away from any traffic!!
All Finishers will receive a custom made "Triathlete Woodallion" from the Wood Cottage of Gatlinburg plus Ice Cold Spring Water as they cross the finish line!!
More: Pre-registration is Friday 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday morning from 6:00 am to 7:15 am. A mandatory triathlete meeting is at 7:15 am; first swimmer in the pool at 7:30 am!!
This 86,000 square foot facility has it all! Members of the Pigeon Forge community can access everything from basketball courts to a meeting room. Memberships last a year from date of purchase. Visitors can purchase daily, weekly or monthly passes. The Aquatic Center includes an indoor and outdoor pool. Other recreational areas include an indoor jogging circuit, aerobic rooms and a 10 lane bowling center. Childcare is also available at the Pigeon Forge Community Center. The LeConte Medical Center has work out equipment for member usage.
