Course Info: The bike course is a non-stop barrage of short, steep, one and two-minute climbs followed by quick descents – all on a virtual moonscape highlighted with the various shades of red, sand, and grey that the desert dishes out. There are more than 2,000-feet of climbing on the 30km bike course (1,000+ per lap) and lots of room to pass.
More: The swim starts right at Montelago Village, then you get out of the water and enter a virtual moonscape with the various shades of red, sand, and grey one racer described as “lunar technical on baked clay.”
Directions: FROM NORTH
* Take I-15 South to the 515 South (also known as the 93/95 South)
* Continue on the 515 to Lake Mead Parkway
* Take Lake Mead Parkway East (left) and continue approximately 6 miles
* Lake Las Vegas is on the left; follow signs to the Loews
FROM LA
* From I-15 North, exit to the 215 East
* Continue on the 215 until it ends; it will become Lake Mead Parkway
* Continue on Lake Mead approximately 7 miles
* Lake Las Vegas is on the left; follow signs to the Loews
FROM McCARRAN AIRPORT
* Take I-215 East to Henderson
* Continue on the 215 until it ends; it will become Lake Mead Parkway
* Travel past Boulder Highway, approximately 7 miles
* Lake Las Vegas is on the left; follow signs to the Loews
LAS VEGAS STRIP
* Take Las Vegas Boulevard to Tropicana Avenue
* Go East on Tropicana Avenue to US 95 South
* Continue on US 95 South and take Lake Mead Parkway Exit
* Travel East on Lake Mead Drive to Lake Las Vegas Parkway
* Lake Las Vegas is on the left; follow signs to the Loews
