Course Info: The SavageMan 20/20 Triathlon is a uniquely formatted double sprint triathlon consisting of a 500 meter swim, followed by a short 50 meter beach run, and then a second 500 meter swim. The swim takes place in the cool, crystal clear waters of Deep Creek Lake and features an in water start and a sandy beach finish. Once athletes complete both loops of the swim they will head out for a loop of the SavageMan 20.0 bike course. A relatively flat course, the bike weaves along the lake on a beautiful ribbon of pavement surrounded by forests and farmland. After a quick turnaround at mile 7.5, athletes will fly back to transition area. The run course begins with a nice tour of the lake shore and goes around the Discovery Center. Athletes will then cross State Park Road for a scenic loop of the campground. The campground loop has the biggest hill of the run course, but you might be able to talk a camper out of a s?more on your way through. The last mile of the run course finishes through a cathedral of pines on a nice, level, gravel road leading to the finish line. 20/20 Athletes will skip the finish line their first time through though. They?ll race back to the run start entrance of transition, gear up for the bike and then proceed to do another circuit of the bike/run course. The SavageMan 20/20 offers athletes a unique challenge and a great way to challenge your legs in the amazing setting of Deep Creek Lake.

More: This race is a GREAT option for relay teams. With 3 athletes to a team, you can mix up the various legs any way you want. The chip exchange has to take place on the beach between swims, or inside the transition area at your bike rack. This is a great race to get a group of friends in the mountains for a weekend racing, riding, hiking, fishing, kayaking, etc. This is a great time of year to be at the lake, in the mountains.

Water Temperature: The water is expected to be in the mid to upper 60?s.

This event features a Tri-Blend Crew Style T-shirts, Custom Race Socks, Finisher?s Medals, Professional DJ, Bounce House and a post race meal.

Map location is based off of a geocode of the addressed entered using Google's Google Maps API. If your address does not geocode properly, you can either update the address (we will attempt to re-geocode after any updates to your entry) or you can use Google's geocoding tool found here: http://gmaps-samples.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/geocoder/singlegeocode.html to obtain a lat/long for your location and enter that. To use the utility, type in an address that is close to your location and then drag-and-drop the marker to obtain the desired lat/long. If you choose to enter a lat/long, you must check the box on the edit page that says, "override geocode with entered lat/long."
