Course Info: Located just on the outskirts of Washington, D.C. this race takes place at a great venue and is so easy to get to. Named in honor of Maryland?s fourth governor and the highest ranking Marylander to serve in the Revolutionary War, General Smallwood State Park is ideally situated for a triathlon. The swim takes place in the pristine Mattawoman Bay, known across the Nation as a top spot for bass fishing. After a short run to the transition area, athletes will race along 16 miles of rolling hills where most of the traffic is just your fellow triathletes! Once you?ve laced up your running shoes, you?ll head back to the road for a fast out and back 5K with aid stations every mile. Run past the restored house called Smallwood?s Retreat towards the finish and you will understand why the General made this area his ?Headquarters?!
This event features a Tri-Blend Crew Style T-shirts, Custom Race Socks, Finisher?s Medals, Professional DJ, Bounce House and a post race meal.

Please, no swimming at the race site prior to the actual race. This area is generally not set up for swimming and is a very active marina with numerous fishing boats.

-This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. Click HERE for a brief description of common USAT rules and how you can avoid getting a penalty in this event.
-This event allows a one time deferral of your registration to the following years event. Athletes can do this through their profile by paying a $20 deferral fee at least 30 days prior to the event. Once we are within 30 days and until online registration closes you may defer your entry to the following year for $35. Sorry, but refunds are not allowed for this, or any VTSMTS event.
